PNB Green PIN

While the notion of Green PIN is shared by all banks, each bank issues it in a unique style or format to make it bank particular.

The Green PIN can be known as a One Time Password, or OTP, provided to the customer's registered mobile number by Punjab National Bank. The PNB Green PIN has six numeric digits and is valid for 72 hours after delivery. The PIN can only be used once to generate or regenerate a debit card PIN.

PNB debit card holders have two options for generating the Green PIN.

  • When you obtain a new PNB debit card after opening an account with the bank.
  • When you need a duplicate PIN (In case you forget the existing PIN).

PNB Green PIN Generate Method

The following are the ways for generation-

a) When You Apply For A New PNB Debit Card

When you apply for a new PNB debit card - the bank will automatically send a Green PIN to the registered cellphone number at the time the debit card is issued. The PIN is valid for - 72 hours from the time it is generated and must be utilized to generate a debit card PIN within that time frame. If you are unable to utilize the OTP within 72 hours, you can request a new OTP by following the steps outlined below.

b) Card PIN Regeneration

Existing PNB debit card users who want to regenerate a duplicate PIN can also use the Green PIN function to self-generate a duplicate PIN.

To obtain a Green PIN, send a text message or SMS in the format shown below from your registered mobile phone.

DCPIN 16-digit debit card number to 5607040

or

DCPIN 16-digit debit card number to 9264092640

Once the message is received, the bank will authenticate your card number and mobile number and provide a six-digit OTP to the same mobile number. The OTP is valid for three days or 72 hours after it is generated and should be utilized to generate the debit card PIN.
