Role and Responsibilities of RTO Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Regional Transport Department performs the following roles and duties:

  • Registration of Motor Vehicles - The principal role of the Rajasthan Regional Transport Office is vehicle registration. RTO Rajasthan also offers Trade Certificates, Permanent Registration, Temporary Registration, Issuance of Renewal Registration Certificate, Issuance of Duplicate Registration Copy, Address Change of the Owner, Ownership Transfer Certificate, Reassignment, Diplomatic Vehicles, No Objection Certificate, Number Reservation, Registration Display Registration Codes, and many other services under Motor Vehicle Registration.
  • Issuance of Goods and Passenger Vehicle Permits - The Rajasthan Regional Transport Office is in charge of issuing permits to various vehicles such as auto rickshaws, city cabs, luxury cabs, pre-paid taxis, Maxi Cabs, radio taxis, and so on. It also issues temporary permits, goods carriage permits, education institution buses, private service vehicles, and so on.
  • Enforcement of Motor Vehicle Act provisions, rules, and regulations - The RTO ensures that the laws imposed under the Motor Vehicles Act are effectively enforced. 
  • Road safety measures - The Rajasthan Regional Transport Office enforces several traffic rules and regulations throughout the state of Rajasthan. 
  • Issue of Conductor and Driving Licenses - The Rajasthan Regional Transport Office issues permanent and learner licenses, international driving permits, and renewal and duplicate licenses.
  • Vehicle pollution control measures and checks - RTOs provide adequate monitoring of noise and air pollution caused by cars in the state. It also enforces different rules and regulations to keep pollutants under control.
  • Collection of motor vehicle taxes - Another major job of the Regional Transport Office is the collection of various taxes such as quarterly tax, border tax, lifetime tax, composite tax, green tax, and so on. It also investigates and handles tax exemptions.

How to Register a Vehicle in RTO Rajasthan?

In order to register a vehicle, visit the nearest RTO in Rajasthan. Connect to an executive and avail of the required forms for vehicle registration. Fill out the forms and attest them with the required documents. Submit the completely filled forms with the required fees to complete the vehicle registration procedure.

Documents Required for Vehicle Registration in Rajasthan

The below-mentioned documents are mandatory for registration with the RTO:

  • Passport-size photos of the vehicle.
  • Form 20: It is an application filed by the owner for the first time the vehicle is registered. A duplicate copy of Form 20 signed by the financier is also necessary if the vehicle is under a hire/hypothecation/lease agreement.
  • CMVR Form 21: This sale certificate must be completed by the individual selling the vehicle to the buyer.
  • Form 22 of the CMVR: This is a form that includes the applicant's statement of conformity with environmental and safety regulations, as well as roadworthiness.
  • CMVR Form 22-A: Form 22-A of the CMVR is the same as Form 22, but it is only valid if the vehicle's body is built independently.
  • Insurance of the vehicle
  • Applicant's address proof
  • If the applicant temporarily registers the car prior to registration, he or she must present the registration certificate. Also, if the dealer has issued a trade certificate, it must be presented.
  • If you are NRI, you need to provide your residence in the country.
  • You need to provide the permit for proceedings.
  • If it's an imported vehicle, the clearance certificate must be provided.
  • If the applicant is an agriculturist, Form 60 or Form 61 must be submitted.
  • If the vehicle is a tractor, a Tehsildar certificate must be submitted.
  • If the vehicle is a caravan, a document stating the Commissioner of Transport's approval of the design must be submitted.

How to Get a Driver's License from the Rajasthan RTO website?

In Rajasthan - you can apply for a driving license online by visiting the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' website at parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.

To accomplish the same, the applicant must complete the steps outlined below:

  • Visit https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.
  • Select online services.
  • Choose from a variety of driving license-related services.
  • Enter the state name, Rajasthan.
  • Fill out the form.
  • Online, you can upload documents, photos, and signatures.
  • Make an online payment for the fee of application.
  • Schedule a driving license exam.
  • Attend the DL test on the specified date and time.
  • The applicant will receive the DL after passing the test.
  • If the applicant can't complete the application process online, he must go straight to the RTO and do so.

How to Get a Duplicate Driver's License in RTO Rajasthan Online?

To obtain a duplicate driving license online in Rajasthan, complete the procedures below:

  • Go to the official Rajasthan RTO website (www.transport.rajasthan.gov.in).
  • Select 'online application for services' after clicking on E-services.
  • Select the 'Apply' button. You'll be taken to parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice14/stateSelection.do from there.
  • Select ‘Rajasthan’, and then click on driving license services.
  • Fill in with the required information.
  • You would then be sent an SMS and an acknowledgement slip, which you must print.
  • After that - you need to upload all of the papers and then click the 'Next' button.
  • You can pay the fees online.
  • Then, bring the original copies of all the paperwork you provided to the RTO office in your jurisdiction.
  • The applicant will be provided with a duplicate driving permit after the documents are verified.
