  • Transfer of Ownership: RTOs handle the transfer of vehicle ownership when a vehicle is sold or transferred to another individual or entity.
  • Hypothecation Removal: After the loan is fully paid, it facilitates the process of removing hypothecation (the lender's ownership claim on a financed vehicle) from the vehicle's registration certificate.
  • Temporary Registration: RTOs issue temporary registration certificates for new vehicles, allowing them to be driven legally until the permanent registration process is completed.
  • International Driving Permit: RTOs may issue International Driving Permits (IDPs) for individuals who wish to drive in foreign countries.
  • Issuing Trade Certificates: RTOs issue trade certificates to dealers and manufacturers to operate vehicles without registration for testing, demonstration, or exhibition purposes.
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate): RTOs provide NOCs for transferring vehicles to another state or re-registering a vehicle in a different RTO jurisdiction.
  • Conductor's License: RTOs issue conductor licenses for individuals working on public transport vehicles like buses.
  • Issuing Permits: RTOs may issue permits for commercial vehicles, such as goods carriage permits, or passenger vehicle permits.
