The following steps are required:
Step 1: The present owner of the car must file an application with the Punjab Transport Department to change ownership.
Step 2: The completed application, along with the appropriate documentation, must be sent to the Transport Department.
Step 3: After receiving the application and supporting documentation, the Transport Department will issue a new registration certificate that has the name of the new owner.
Step 4: The new owner must then pay the associated fees and taxes, as well as submit the necessary papers to the Punjab RTO (Regional Transport Office).
The ways to verify the RC Vahan application status in Punjab:
Step 1: Navigate to the official website portal of Parivahan (http://www.punjabtransport.org/).
Step 2: Select Vehicle-Related Services from the Online Services menu.
Step 3: Select "Punjab" from the "Select State" drop-down menu.
Step 4: Choose your RTO for vehicle registration and then click Proceed.
Step 5: On this page, you must select the Status tab. This would present you with a set of alternatives, one of which must be Knowing your application status.
Step 6: Enter your application number and choose the "Submit" button.
Step 7: Your vehicle ownership transfer status and other information will be displayed on your screen.
