Bank of Baroda Account Number

BOB was founded in 1908 in one of Gujarat's towns, Baroda. Initially, a small financial enterprise, the Bank has grown to become one of the top names in the banking market. Bank of Baroda has always prioritized meeting its clients' banking and financial needs.

The Bank has always stayed ahead of the competition by implementing technology developments and innovations into its day-to-day operations. Bank of Baroda gives its clients a comprehensive range of banking and financial solutions.

In order to adopt the new age transaction system, i.e., the electronic fund transfer system, the Bank has shifted from the conventional short account number format to a new 14-digit Bank of Baroda account number format.

Bank of Baroda Account Number Format

The format of a Bank of Baroda account number is as follows-

  • The new Bank of Baroda account number is 14 digits long.

  • The branch code is represented by the first four digits of the 14-digit account number. Every branch of the Bank of Baroda is assigned a unique branch code. This identical code number appears at the beginning of the account number, making it easier to determine which branch of Bank of Baroda a certain account belongs to.

The product code is the next two digits. Savings accounts, current accounts, loan accounts, and so on all have a code number linked with them, making it easy to determine which type of account the customer has.

Here is a Bank of Baroda account number example-

The final set of eight numbers is the customer's real account number.

For example, if a customer's account number is 12345677654321, the branch code is 1234, the product code is 56, and the last eight digits are 77654321. When a consumer is required to provide the account number, the customer must provide the entire 14-digit account number.

The bank account number represents the Bank's relationship with the consumer. Furthermore, because the electronic payments system processes a significant volume of transactions every day, it is critical to correctly enter the whole 14-digit account number for a correct and successful transaction.

This also reduces the possibility of incorrect transactions and improves consumer satisfaction.
