Meghalaya RTO Functions and Responsibilities

The Meghalaya RTO office provides and manages a wide range of RTO-related services, including:

  • Vehicle registration in the state of Meghalaya.
  • Certificates of registration and fancy numbers are issued.
  • Vehicle registration renewal in Meghalaya.
  • In Meghalaya, cars must have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or a fitness certificate.
  • The ML RTO office grants special vehicle permits.

How to Register a Vehicle with RTO Meghalaya?

  • Bring the vehicle to the Meghalaya RTO office.
  • Fill out the application form 20 and send it along with the required documentation.
  • Pay the registration cost at the cash counter of the Meghalaya RTO office.
  • The smart card will be generated as soon as the vehicle is registered.

Documents Required to Register a Vehicle with RTO Meghalaya

  • A duplicate of the applicant's PAN card.
  • Form 21
  • PUC authorization.
  • Form 22 is the car insurance certificate.
  • The vehicle's purchase invoice.
  • Customs clearance certificate for imported autos.
  • Motor Vehicle Tax.
  • The applicant's Identification and address evidence.
  • Photos of the candidate in passport size are required.

How to Get a License from Meghalaya RTO?

The following is the procedure for applying for a Driving Licence online:

  • Visit Parivahan Sewa's official website.
  • Select 'Online Services.'
  • Select 'Driving Licence Related Services' from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the state where you live. Choose 'Meghalaya' in this case.
  • Select 'Apply for a Driving Licence.'
  • Once you've read all of the instructions, click 'Continue.'
  • Select the type of license you have. If you have a learner's license, provide your license number and date of birth. If you hold a foreign driver's license, you must input the necessary information.
  • Click the 'OK' button.
  • Fill out the application form next.
  • Upload the required documents.
  • Choose a time to take the test.
  • The application fee must be paid on the following page.
  • To take the test, you must go to the nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO) on the date you have chosen.

Documents Required to Apply for a License from RTO Meghalaya
