Transfer of Ownership in Jharkhand RTOs

There are three options for transferring automobile ownership:

  • If ownership is transferred normally, the transferor and transferee must notify the RTO closest to their residence of the transfer.
  • If the vehicle was purchased in a state or federal government auction, the owner must register it within 30 days of taking ownership.
  • If the owner of the car expires - the successor must notify the authorities before using the vehicle as their own.
