Waaree Energies’ Initial Public Offering (IPO) saw a record 97.34 lakh applicants at the upper end of the price band. The company is one of the largest players in the solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing industry. The issue worth Rs 4,321 crore attracted bids for around Rs 2.41 lakh crore. The retail portion of the issue was subscribed 10.79 times, while the employee portion saw a subscription of 5.17 times.

Waaree Energies is India’s largest solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer. The company was founded in 1990 and has five manufacturing facilities across Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Waaree Energies stated that from the net IPO proceeds, Rs 2,750 crore will be used for enhancing the company’s capacity. The company reported that it will set up a 6 gigawatt (GW) ingot wafer, solar cell, and solar module facility. At present, the company has a total solar module capacity of over 12 GW and is aiming to grow the capacity to over 20 GW by FY27.
Shares of Waaree Energies will be listed on the bourses on October 28, 2024.
