Transrail Lighting Ltd. on 27th February, 2025 announced the receipt of new orders aggregating to ₹2,752 crore, mainly from the transmission and distribution segment. This news led to a 6% surge in the share price of the company in early trade today.
Order Details and Growth
- Transrail Lighting’s year-to-date order inflows have crossed ₹7,400 crore after the recent order wins and this translates into a growth of around 90 percent over the previous year.
- According to Randeep Narang, Transrail's MD & CEO: "These orders reestablish Transrail as a trusted player in the T&D domain”.
- Order book continues to inflate, due to competitiveness and backward integration.
Stock Market Performance
- The share price of Transrail Lighting surged more than 6% on the news in early trades. Shares on the NSE jumped as much as 6% to ₹517.70.
- Transrail Lighting shares were trading 2.44% up at ₹496.00 on the BSE at around 9:35 AM.
- Despite a recent uptick, the stock had dropped 3% in a month and over 11% on a year-to-date basis.
- Transrail Lighting shares debuted at ₹585.15 on the BSE and at ₹590 apiece on the NSE in December 2024, reflecting close to a 36% listing gain to IPO investors.
Company Performance & Future Outlook
Transrail Lighting’s net profit surged by 92% to ₹93.2 crore in the quarter ending December 2024, from ₹48.6 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal. Revenue from operations rose 62% to ₹1,357.6 crore, while earnings before interest, taxes, amortization and depreciation grew 80%, at ₹179.8 crore. Further, a strong order book, manufacturing capacities, a track record of execution capabilities, and a strong tender pipeline gives the construction engineering company good growth prospects in the coming quarters.
