The Indian equity market is expected to start on a cautious note today, as GIFT Nifty futures indicate a steep decline. At the heart of this sentiment is the United States' decision to impose its own 'reciprocal tariffs' — a thundercloud hanging over the world's trade arena. Steps have already been taken by US President Donald Trump that includes a colloquial 26% tariff on Indian imports, prompting investors to keenly track how Dalal Street performs.

Key Stocks in Focus

HDFC Bank has received an administrative caution letter for regulatory non-compliance from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) with regard to its custodian activities. Such a development could make the investor cautious on the stock. 

Punjab National Bank (PNB) announced strong growth for Q4 with its global business seeing healthy growth both on a q-o-q basis and y-o-y, primarily due to the rise in deposits and advances.

BEL: Indian Air Force awarded a contract worth ₹593.22 crore to Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) for maintenance of Akash Missile System. 

Kirloskar Oil Engines received a ₹270 crore order from the Indian Navy. The defence sector enjoys an impressive order book, as demonstrated by these contract wins.

Lupin is acquiring UK-based Renascience Pharma for £12.3 million (about ₹135 crore). Through the deal, Lupin will be getting a portfolio of branded injectable cephalosporins and other pharmaceutical products in the UK market.

Reliance Industries (RIL):The company on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for an integrated CBG plant by Reliance New Energy near Divakarapalli in Kanigiri as part of the first phase of its proposed ₹65,000 crore investment for establishing CBG hubs in Andhra Pradesh.

Hindustan Zinc: Mined metal production for FY25: 1,095 kt Highest-ever refined metal production for FY25: 1,052 kt Production of refined zinc came in at 827 kt, a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase of 1 percent, while lead production was at 225 kt, 4 percent higher.

Muthoot Finance: Moody's Ratings has upgraded issuer credit ratings on Muthoot Finance Limited to 'Ba1' from 'Ba2' with a 'Stable' outlook.

NTPC: The company has issued global tenders seeking partners to develop large nuclear reactors with a combined capacity of 15 gigawatts (GW) in the country, a precursor to India’s long-term target of reaching at least 100 GW of nuclear capacity by 2047.

Macrotech Developers (Lodha): Abhishek Lodha’s Macrotech Developers has alleged that some entities of its younger brother Abhinandan Lodha’s House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) have used “purported” board resolutions of Macrotech to lay claim to the “Lodha” trademark and has submitted them to government authorities.

Infosys: The IT major has introduced the Formula E Stats Center, which it built in coordination with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, to catapult fan engagement in to the fast lane.

SJVN: The Phase-1 of its 1,000-MW Bikaner Solar power project, which is being developed by SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), an arm of SJVN has commenced commercial power supply, the company said.
