16th April, 2025 / 9:30 AM

State Bank of India (SBI) has been in the news after it recently slashed its loan interest rates by 0.25% on the back of the recent repo rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). While this may positively impact the stock going forward, it has opened at 763.50, which is the same as the closing price on 15th April.

The opening price on the 15th was higher at 770 and this surpassed the closing price on 11th April (753.85) by a fair margin. Yet, in spite of the positive momentum, the stock closed lower than the opening price yesterday. The unchanged opening today may signal an arresting of the downward slide or may lead to a further slump later on. It remains to be seen how things play out by midday.
