The Indian market will remain closed on Monday, 14 September 2026, on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have included the festival in their list of trading holidays for 2026. As a result, there will be no trading or settlement activity in the stock market on 14 September.

The holiday will result in three consecutive days of market closure, with Saturday, 12 September, and Sunday, 13 September, being regular weekend holidays, followed by the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on Monday, 14 September.

Will the Commodity Market Be Open on 14 September 2026?

Trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be affected by the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on 14 September 2026. 

The 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. session will remain closed, while trading will resume in the evening session from 5:00 P.M., with the closing time varying between 11:30 P.M. and 11:55 P.M., depending on the commodity.

When Will the Stock Market Reopen?

The NSE and BSE will resume regular trading on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, after remaining closed for Ganesh Chaturthi on 14 September. The weekend on September 12 and 13 will extend the market break to three consecutive days.

Trading on 15 September will begin with the pre-open session at 9:00 A.M., followed by the regular equity market session from 9:15 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
