What is GR-1?

GR-1 is Groww’s built-in financial assistant designed to help you with research, portfolio context, mutual fund analysis, and supported workflows.

Rather than acting as a separate chatbot, GR-1 brings integrated value across the entire app:

Relevant Context: Answers your questions using your actual holdings, watchlists, positions, live market data, and company developments.
Faster Research: Combines data spread across multiple screens into a single, simple workflow.
Clear Explanations: Explains complex financial signals, earnings results, and fund recommendations in plain language.
Supported Actions: Connects research to action by helping you set alerts, manage watchlists, or draft order review cards safely.

Three Ways to Use GR-1

GR-1 operates across three distinct touchpoints inside the Groww app, giving you intelligent context exactly when and where you need it:

1. Ask GR-1 (Conversational Research)

When you have a specific question in mind, open GR-1 from the app navigation or tap any of the contextual starters on your screen.

Type or tap questions like "Why has SBI gone down 5% today?" or "Break down the latest quarterly results."
GR-1 combines your question with live market prices, stock news, or your own portfolio context to give you a clear, complete answer.

2. GR-1 on Stock Pages (Proactive Insights)

You don't always need to ask a question to start your research. When you view any stock overview page on Groww, GR-1 Insights surfaces helpful signals automatically.

Pre-generated Cards: See ranked insight cards covering price movements, unusual trading volume, price-volume trends, news updates, or financial results.
Tap to go deeper: Tap any card (e.g., "Sharp -17% drop due to war-related news") to view a concise breakdown of why it matters, its potential impact, and what to monitor next.

3. GR-1 with MF Prime (Mutual Fund Reasoning)

If you use MF Prime, Groww’s personalized mutual fund recommendation service, then, GR-1 helps you understand the reasoning behind every recommendation.

Interrogate recommendations: Ask questions like "Why was this fund recommended?", "How does this fit my portfolio?", or "Explain the Smart Invest logic."
Build confidence: Understand fund ratings, risk fit, allocation logic, and fund comparisons before making an investment.

Please Note: While GR-1 can assist with workflows, such as preparing an order review card or setting a price alert, it will never execute an order automatically. Any supported order action requires complete details and your explicit confirmation before placement.

How to Access GR-1 on Groww?

Getting started with GR-1 takes just one tap:

From Navigation: Tap the GR-1 icon at the top right of your Stocks or Explore tab.
From Stock Pages: Scroll down to the GR-1 Insights section on any stock overview screen.
From MF Prime: Tap "Ask more" or choose any contextual prompt on your Prime portfolio screens.
