Several listed companies are set to trade ex-dividend this week, keeping stocks such as State Bank of India (SBI), Godrej Consumer Products, Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), Anand Rathi Wealth, and others in focus.

For investors, the ex-date is important because shareholders must own the stock before this date to be eligible for dividends. Since Indian markets follow a T+1 settlement cycle, investors generally need to buy shares at least one trading day before the ex-date.

Key Dividend Stocks to Watch

Godrej Consumer Products will trade ex-dividend on May 12, 2026, for an interim dividend of ₹5 per share. On May 15, 2026, multiple companies, including IEX (₹2 per share), Anand Rathi Wealth (₹7 per share), Aptus Value Housing Finance (₹2.50 per share) and Kennametal India (₹40 per share) will also turn ex-dividend.

Shares of public sector lender State Bank of India (SBI) will trade ex-dividend on Friday, May 15. The company has announced a final dividend of ₹17.35 per equity share of ₹1 each, fully paid up, for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The record date for determining eligible shareholders is Saturday, May 16, 2026. As this falls on a non-trading day, May 15, 2026, will be the last trading session for investors to buy the stock to qualify for the dividend. The dividend payout is scheduled for June 4, 2026.

Why Ex-Dividend Dates Matter?

When a stock turns ex-dividend, buyers from that date onward are not eligible to receive the announced dividend. The record date is used by companies to finalise the list of eligible shareholders, while the ex-date is adjusted to align with settlement timelines.

Investors often track such dividend announcements as they can impact stock prices and trading activity in the short term.
