Parle Products, the company behind the iconic Parle-G biscuit, is reportedly gearing up for an initial public offering (IPO) that could raise more than $1 billion (approximately ₹8,500 to ₹9,000 crore). According to media reports, the offering may value the FMCG major at over $10 billion (around ₹90,000 crore), making it one of the largest IPOs in India's consumer goods sector.
While the company has not officially announced its listing plans, reports suggest preparations for the public issue are underway.
As per media reports, Parle Products has selected Kotak Mahindra Capital, Axis Capital, and HSBC Securities to manage the proposed IPO. The company is also said to be evaluating the appointment of another investment bank to join the syndicate.
Established in 1929, Parle Products is one of India's oldest and most recognised food companies. It has built a strong presence in the biscuit and confectionery segments over the decades, with products available across urban and rural markets.
Its flagship brand, Parle-G, remains one of the country's most widely consumed biscuits. Apart from Parle-G, the company's portfolio includes popular brands such as Monaco, KrackJack, Hide & Seek, Melody, Mango Bite, Kismi, and 20-20, among others.
The company also has an extensive distribution network spanning millions of retail outlets in India, along with exports to several international markets.
If Parle Products decides to proceed with the listing, the next major step would be the filing of a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI. The document will provide detailed information on the company's financial performance, shareholding structure, IPO size, use of proceeds, and potential risks.
Until an official filing is made, the reported fundraise and valuation remain indicative and may change as the IPO process progresses.
