HDFC Bank, one of India's leading private sector lenders, has announced that its Board of Directors will consider a range of important proposals, including the declaration of a special interim dividend and the issuance of bonus shares for its shareholders.

In a regulatory filing with the BSE and NSE on Wednesday, the bank stated that the proposals would be taken up during the board meeting as per Regulation 29 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The two key items under consideration include:

  1. Declaration of a Special Interim Dividend on equity shares for the Financial Year 2025–26, and
  2. Issue of bonus shares, subject to shareholder approval and compliance with applicable regulations.

HDFC Bank has executed multi-step stock splits but has not declared any bonus share issue in the past. If the proposal gets approved on July 19, 2025, this would be the first-ever Bonus Share Issue by HDFC Bank.

Talking about dividends, the lender has declared consistent annual final dividends with increasing payouts over time. ₹22.00 per share as a final dividend for FY 2024–25, ₹19.50 in FY 2023–24, ₹19 in FY 2022–23, ₹15.50 in FY 2021–22, and ₹6.50 in FY 2020–21.
