The Mysore Paper Mills Limited is a Government of Karnataka enterprise primarily engaged in the integrated manufacturing of paper, newsprint, and sugar. As trustees, the company's Board holds a fiduciary responsibility to ensure that clear goals are set, which are aligned with shareholder value and growth. The company believes that good corporate governance is an ethically driven process committed to values aimed at enhancing the organization's wealth-generating capacity. Its main products include writing and printing paper, newsprint, sugar, and molasses, though sales quantities for paper products declined during the year. Due to large financial losses, the Government of Karnataka decided to stop the company's operations and pursue leasing them out to a private entity. To support its operations, the Government of Karnataka had previously leased approximately 30,000 hectares of forest land to the company for raising captive plantations.;
