About Empee Sugar & Chem
Empee Sugars and Chemicals operates as an important agro-based industry that employs a significant number of workers in India's rural areas. The company's business model is virtually dependent on the byproducts it creates from sugar production in order to remain financially viable. Due to a lack of sugarcane and working capital, operations at its Naidupet (AP) and Ambasamudram (TN) facilities have come to a standstill. Consequently, the 50MW power plant had to be shut down due to a lack of bagasse, the fuel derived from sugarcane processing. Despite these challenges, the IAP (Industrial Alcohol Plant) unit produced 418,931 litres of ENA, RS, and IS/DS during the year under review. The company's directors are currently exploring various strategic options to navigate through this difficult financial and operational period.;
