Elango Industries Limited started in 1994 as a steel plant producing steel ingots in Karaikal and Pondicherry before shifting its focus. The company's primary business is now power generation and distribution, having earlier commissioned a gas-based and a coal-based plant. Lately, its major revenue source is providing operation and maintenance services to the power plants of its clients. To further increase its income, the company also markets and sells the power produced by its clients' facilities. It has expanded into renewable energy by marketing rooftop solar installations for homes and businesses. A potential new plant acquisition is expected to generate significant revenue of ₹12 crore to ₹15 crore annually.;
