Bihar Sponge Iron Limited, established in 1982 and based in Jharkhand, is a manufacturer engaged in producing, selling, and dealing in pre-reduced iron, commonly known as sponge iron. Its social responsibility policy is inspired to establish institutions for education, science, medicine, and women's welfare to uplift the nation's downtrodden and promote youth competence. To generate revenue following a plant shutdown, the company entered into a Facility User Agreement with other private firms, demonstrating a flexible operational strategy. The company's primary business involves producing sponge iron from three kilns, which have a combined installed capacity of 210,000 metric tonnes per year. In addition to its core manufacturing, the company also generates business by trading in plastic packaging materials, diversifying its operations. After restarting its plant, the company has begun earning revenue again, achieving a net profit before tax of ₹744.48 lakhs in the 2023-24 financial year.;
