The Government of the country launched the Atal Pension Yojana in 2015. The scheme is a guaranteed pension scheme administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development authority.

The Bank of India is also registered with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority to give its customers the Atal Pension Yojana service. All of the branches of the bank can give their account holders to open an Atal Pension Scheme anytime.

As already mentioned, the Bank of India is also registered with the PFRDA to provide account holders with access to the Atal Pension Yojana.

The Atal Pension Yojana is a retirement plan that the Government launched to support the working sector of the country develops voluntary pension investments. It is a scheme that can be opened by any Indian citizen who is above the age of 18 and below 40.

  • Step 5: Add the nominee and enter the entitlement under social schemes and an existing taxpayer. Now, you can opt for a pension scheme ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,000.
  • Step 6: Submit the duly signed form online through the internet banking option of the Bank of India. Or else, you can also link your account to the Atal Pension Yojana. It will make sure that the fixed amount will be auto-debited monthly.

Offline Process to Enroll for the Atal Pension Yojana through Bank of India

You will have to go to the closest branch of the Bank of India, and you need to offer the benefits of the scheme. Collect the form and fill it with the relevant information.

Check and submit the form along with the attached photocopies of the Aadhaar card and various other documents. You would get an acknowledgement after a successful receipt of the form. 

How to Fill in the Bank of India Atal Pension Yojana Form?

The Atal Pension Yojana application form has the following sections, and you can take a look at it:

Section 1 

You will have to enter the bank details like the account number, bank name, and more.

Section 2

Fill in your personal details like your marital status, name, contact number, and Aadhaar number.

Section 3

Select the pension options which are inclusive of Rs. 1,000, Rs. 2,000, Rs. 3,000, Rs. 4,000, and Rs. 5,000.

The Bank of India representatives would fill in the monthly contribution section. The form will contain an - 'acknowledgement' segment. The bank official will fill and sign it once you submit the application form.

Documents Required to Enroll for the Bank of India Atal Pension Yojana

The documentation necessary for the Atal Pension Yojana is listed below-

  • Identity verification (Aadhaar card)
  • Address verification (Voter ID card, Aadhaar card, etc.)
  • Documents that prove your date of birth (SSLC Certificate.)
  • Your savings bank's account number.

You must also have an active contact number where you may get confirmation and other information.

Eligibility of the Bank of India Atal Pension Yojana

Here are the four Atal Pension Yojana qualifying conditions that must be met in order to participate in the scheme:

  • This is a scheme that is open to all Indian citizens. However, the age limit for the Atal Pension Yojana is between 18 and 40 years.
  • If you have enrolled in the Swavalamban Yojana, you will instantly be eligible for the benefits of this scheme.
  • As an applicant, you must have a bank or post office savings account.
  • An Aadhaar card is a necessary document for the Atal Pension Yojana. If you do not have your Aadhaar, the bank official may refuse to accept your application.
  • You must also give the bank permission to link your Aadhaar to your pension account.
  • You must not already have an APY account.
  • If you are a Swavalamban Yojana beneficiary, you will be transferred to the Atal Pension Yojana scheme.
