Tata Power has recently been in the news for the approval issued to a new 100 MW battery storage project in Mumbai. This has pushed share prices beyond the opening price of ₹337, touching ₹356.80, indicating growth of 5.87% over the former. Interestingly, the opening price itself was 8.79% lower than the 4th April closing price of 369.50. Also, at midday, the stock was trading at ₹351.75, which was 4.37% more than the opening price for the day, particularly after peaking at ₹358.29 and slumping at ₹344.66 after its initial jump.
The opening prices on 4th April were also lower than the closing prices on 3rd April (by 0.67%), making today the second straight day of opening below the closing prices. On 3rd April, however, the stock closed at 3.31% more than the opening price for the day. How will things play out for the stock in the future? That’s a question investors eagerly want answers to.

The stock hit a peak of ₹358.29 today after a low of ₹344.66, which came after the initial recovery. It has now slid down to the midday number after a positive trading period when the curve went upward. Will it continue downward or recover even more by the closing? That’s the question that investors are asking after it opened 8.79% lower than the opening price of ₹369.50 on 4th April.
With overall industry sentiments remaining muted, we’ll have to wait to see how this one plays out by the end of the day.

On 3rd April itself, the stock closed at about 3.31% higher than the ₹374 opening price for the day.
This is the second straight day when the opening price is lower than the closing price. Tata Power has been in the news for its proposed coal capacity expansion, the very first time in six years.
