With the trading week opening, market players are likely to turn their attention to a variety of corporate updates in the wake of last week's rise on Dalal Street. Optimism over the US-China trade talks boosted the markets last week. However,  worries  still remain about foreign investors selling. 

Several Indian entities are poised for changes within the FTSE global equity indices, potentially influencing portfolio flows. Hyundai Motor India, NTPC Green Energy, Swiggy, and Waaree Energies are slated for inclusion in the large cap category. These index additions are anticipated to draw increased attention to the respective companies and could stimulate greater investor interest. Moreover, several companies have declared their quarterly results, key updates, or fresh developments that will grab investor attention today.

Stock to Watch Today

JSW Steel has posted a 16% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter at ₹1,503 crore, up from ₹1,299 crore in the previous year period. The outcome points towards a strong performance by the steel giant.

Ashok Leyland declared a 38% year-on-year increase in Q4 standalone net profit, which was at ₹1,246 crore against ₹900 crore in the previous year. The increase reflects high demand and better performance from the sector. The firm also announced a 1:1 bonus share issue for the first time since 2011, along with a ₹4.25 per share dividend, amounting to a ₹1,248 crore payout. The revenue of the quarter was up by 5.7% at ₹11,907 crore.

NTPC reported a 22.6% Q-on-Q rise in Q4 profit to ₹5,778 crore. Revenue was at ₹43,903.7 crore, a 6% sequential increase.

JK Cement too had a good quarter, with net profit rising 77% year-on-year to ₹417.3 crore. Revenue rose 13.7%, and EBITDA increased 34.5% to ₹736.6 crore.

Ashoka Buildcon posted a strong 73.2% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹432.2 crore even as revenue slipped marginally to ₹2,694.4 crore. Pharma company Glenmark reported consistent performance with a 6.3% YoY revenue growth to ₹3,256 crore and a 11.2% growth in EBITDA. Adjusted net profit was ₹347 crore, stripping out one-time items.

Balkrishna Industries recorded a heavy net profit decline of 25% to ₹362 crore despite an improvement of a marginal 5% in revenues. Finolex Industries reported a 5% YoY decline in revenues to ₹1,171.8 crore while net profit remained constant at ₹165 crore, but at the expense of worsening margins.

One 97 Communications,Paytm, was granted respite by the Supreme Court, which suspended proceedings pertaining to a show cause notice served on its subsidiary First Games Technology. The April 28, 2025, notice had asked for ₹5,712 crore in taxes, interest, and penalty for the period between January 2018 and March 2023.

Zydus Lifesciences has got final US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) clearance for its Moraiya plant to manufacture its Isotretinoin capsules, which are indicated for the treatment of severe nodular acne. Sun Pharma has made additional investment of up to $25 million in US-based biopharma firm Pharmazz Inc., taking its overall holding to around 22.7% on a fully diluted basis.

Havells India expanded its manufacturing capacity of cables at its Alwar plant by 0.25 lakh km with an ₹340 crore investment from its internal reserves by September 2026. NIBE acquired an export order worth $17.52 million (approximately ₹150.62 crore) from a top Israeli defence technology company for Universal Rocket Launchers, reflecting its penetration in the international defence industry.

Union Bank of India was fined ₹63.6 lakh by the RBI for non-compliance regarding depositor fund transfers and agricultural lending norms.
