On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Indian stock markets witnessed a significant rally, with the BSE Sensex surging 1,200.18 points (1.48%) to close at 82,530.74, and the NSE Nifty 50 climbing 395.20 points (1.60%) to settle at 25,062.10. This marks the Nifty's first close above the 25,000 level in seven months, a milestone last achieved in October 2024 .

Stock to focus 

Several prominent Indian companies are scheduled to announce their Q4 FY2025 earnings today, Friday, May 16, 2025. Investors are closely monitoring these releases for insights into sectoral performance and market sentiment..

Bharti Airtel is in the limelight as Singtel's unit, Pastel, intends to sell a 0.8% stake through a block deal worth ₹8,568 crore. The minimum price for this deal is fixed slightly lower than market levels at ₹1,800 per share.

JSW Energy had a 16% increase in fourth-quarter profit, led mainly by higher electricity demand in summer. The board of the firm has also sanctioned a scheme for raising ₹10,000 crore through different means like Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) and private placements.

Abbott India showed robust growth in Q4 with a nearly 28% increase in net profit, backed by higher revenue and better cost control. Their operating margin also improved.

Godrej Industries turned profitable in Q4, reporting ₹183 crore in 

profit after incurring a loss during the same quarter last year. The firm witnessed revenues surge more than 26%, with better operating margins.

Crompton Greaves, one of the well-known players in the fan and appliances space, reported a 22.5% rise in Q4 net profit. Increased sales of fans and household pumps, driven by summer off-take, would have clearly driven revenue growth, while a better EBITDA margin indicates increased efficiency.

NCC, the infrastructure and construction company, recorded a modest 6% increase in net profit during Q4 at ₹253.8 crore. This happened even as revenue dipped by 5.5%. A marginal improvement in EBITDA margins suggests better cost control.

Datamatics registered its net profit drop 14.6% year-on-year to ₹44.9 crore in Q4FY25, from ₹52.5 crore. Nevertheless, the firm's revenue growth accelerated 20.5% to ₹497.2 crore, driven by strong performance in major verticals. EBITDA increased 15.3% to ₹74.5 crore, though margins narrowly dropped to 15% from 15.7%.

Patanjali Foods' consolidated net profit also increased substantially by 76.3% year-on-year, to ₹358.5 crore.

PB Fintech, the parent of Policybazaar, reported a massive 184.1% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹171 crore in Q4FY25.

GR Infraprojects saw its 27% year-on-year decline in net profit post ₹403 crore during the fourth quarter.

Auto component maker Endurance Technologies reported a 16.7% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹245 crore during the fourth quarter.

Alkem Laboratories has reported a cybersecurity breach at one of its US subsidiaries where employee email accounts were hacked and resulted in a fraudulent funds transfer. Total impact is under investigation, and experts have been summoned to investigate the issue.

The capital markets regulator, SEBI, is investigating senior executives at IndusInd Bank on charges of trading in client company shares.
