Bharti Airtel posted a better-than-anticipated performance for the March quarter, with consolidated net profit at ₹11,022 crore, significantly surpassing analyst projections despite a sequential drop of 25.4% from ₹14,781.2 crore in Q3FY25. The prior quarter had included a one-off gain of ₹7,545.6 crore, creating a high base effect.

Revenue for the quarter rose 2.1% sequentially to ₹47,876 crore, ahead of both Bloomberg and CNBC-TV18 estimates. EBITDA came in at ₹27,404 crore, slightly above expectations but lower than ₹29,056.7 crore in the preceding quarter. The EBITDA margin declined to 57.2%, compared to 62% in Q3, though remained stronger than consensus estimates.

Average revenue per user (ARPU) held steady at ₹245 versus the previous quarter, registering a sharp 17.2% jump year-on-year. Data consumption per user continued to expand, rising to 25.1 GB/month, up over 21% from last year, reflecting continued growth in mobile data usage.

The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹16 per equity share for FY25.

Despite margin compression and a sequential profit decline, the operating performance was robust, driven by healthy topline growth and resilient ARPU.

Ahead of the earnings release, Bharti Airtel’s stock ended the session 2.74% lower at ₹1,820.95 on the BSE.
