Why is my buy/sell disabled for certain stocks?

Loading...
The option to buy or sell certain stocks might be temporarily disabled or restricted due to several reasons:
  1. Trade Restrictions, Suspensions, or Surveillance:
    • Stocks might be under trade restrictions by the exchange.
    • They could be suspended from trading.
    • They might be part of surveillance categories like GSM (Graded Surveillance Measure) or ASM (Additional Surveillance Measure) due to high volatility, unusual price movements, or other regulatory concerns.
  2. Lack of Liquidity:
    • If there aren’t enough buyers or sellers for a stock, trading might be limited due to low liquidity, making it difficult to execute trades at fair prices.
  3. Intraday Restrictions:
    • Some stocks may not be available for intraday trading (buying and selling on the same day) due to specific exchange rules or brokerage policies.
  4. Only Limit Orders Allowed:
    • For certain stocks, especially those under surveillance or with high volatility, only limit orders may be allowed, and market orders are not permitted to prevent large price swings.
If none of these reasons seem to apply to your situation, please contact our customer support team for further assistance. We are here to help you.
