Why do I have to verify holdings with TPIN?

As per CDSL guidelines (effective from 18th Feb 2021), you must enter a TPIN and OTP received on your registered mobile number to verify your holdings before selling shares.

Key Reasons for TPIN Verification:
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: TPIN ensures that only the authorized account holder can sell shares, preventing unauthorized transactions.
  • CDSL Mandate: The depository (CDSL) requires verification before selling to enhance investor protection.
  • Validity of Verification: Once verified, your holdings remain authorized for 1 day. If you do not sell within the same day, you must verify again before placing a new sell order.
How to Generate a New TPIN?
  1. Click on the below button 'SET YOUR TPIN'
  2. You can find your BOID (16-digit Beneficiary Owner ID) under Profile → Account Details.
