A UPI PIN (Unified Payments Interface Personal Identification Number) is a 4 or 6-digit number you set to authorize all UPI transactions. It ensures that only you, the account holder, can approve payments.
Key Points about UPI PIN:
- Usage: You need to enter your UPI PIN every time you make a payment through UPI.
- Consistency: The same UPI PIN can be used across different UPI apps for the same bank account.
- Resetting: If you forget your UPI PIN, you can reset it using your debit card details (last 6 digits & expiry date) or your Aadhaar card details (only if your bank account is linked to your Aadhaar).
- Reset Process: To reset, go to the ‘Pay’ tab → Bank account details page → Click on ‘Forgot UPI PIN’.
- Security: Never share your UPI PIN with anyone, as it can be used to authorize payments from your account.
