Indian markets are poised for potentially active trading today, following movements in key indices and a flurry of corporate announcements spanning acquisitions, expansions, and regulatory developments. At 7:20 AM IST, GIFT Nifty futures indicated an upward trajectory, registering a gain of 129.00 points to reach 22,737.00. This comes after the Sensex and Nifty50 closed higher in the previous session, advancing by 0.46% to 74,169.96 and 0.50% to 22,508.75, respectively.

Key Stocks in Focus

Bajaj Finserv: The company has made a significant move by acquiring Allianz SE’s complete 26% stake in their joint insurance entities, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd (BAGIC) and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd (BALIC). The financial details of this transaction reveal a valuation of ₹13,780 crore for BAGIC and ₹10,400 crore for BALIC. This acquisition values Bajaj Allianz General Insurance at ₹53,346 crore and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance at ₹40,000 crore. The completion of these share purchase agreements marks the end of a 24-year partnership.

JM Financial: The company has approved the transfer of its private wealth business to its wholly-owned subsidiary, JM Financial Services Ltd (JMFSL), through a slump sale valued at ₹11.08 crore. This restructuring is set to take effect from 1st April 2025, aiming to consolidate the group’s wealth management services under a unified structure.

Swiggy: E-commerce player Swiggy is expanding its quick-commerce platform, Swiggy Instamart, reaching 100 cities across India, capitalising on increasing demand in tier 2 and tier 3 markets. Notably, in 2025 alone, Swiggy Instamart has extended its 10-minute delivery service to 32 new cities.

Aditya Birla Real Estate: ABRE Through its subsidiary Birla Estates, has launched its inaugural residential project in Pune, named Birla Punya, with an estimated revenue potential of ₹2,700 crore. The project spans 5.76 acres and will offer 1.6 million square feet of saleable area. State-owned construction firm NBCC India has secured a project management consultancy (PMC) contract worth ₹44.62 crore from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialisation (MGIRI) in Wardha. The project entails overseeing infrastructure construction and development, including a hostel and VIP guest house, under the EPC mode. 

IRCON International: IRCON International, in a joint venture with Badri Rai and Company, has been awarded an EPC contract by the Government of Meghalaya valued at ₹1,096.2 crore. IRCON’s share in this venture is 26%, with Badri Rai holding the remaining 74%. The contract pertains to the construction of a new Secretariat Complex in New Shillong City, Meghalaya.

Bank of Maharashtra: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued an administrative warning letter to the Bank of Maharashtra for not conducting the requisite number of Nomination & Remuneration Committee meetings in FY23 and FY24. The regulator has clarified that this warning will not impact the bank’s financial or operational activities. 

HUL: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Hindustan Unilever’s proposal to acquire Uprising Science, the parent company of the beauty and personal care brand Minimalist. 

Shilpa Medicare: The company’s subsidiary, Shilpa Biologicals Private Ltd (SBPL), has entered into a co-development and commercialisation partnership with mAbTree Biologics AG for an immuno-oncology novel biological entity. Coffee Day has reached a settlement agreement to clear ₹205 crore in outstanding dues to debenture holders. 

Suryoday Small Finance Bank: Baskar Babu Ramachandran, Promoter and MD & CEO of Suryoday Small Finance Bank, has increased his stake through open market purchases. 

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency: IREDA has increased its borrowing program for FY25 by ₹5,000 crore.
