Strengths & Financials of Neelam Linens and Garments
Neelam Linens sources surplus or slightly imperfect fabric in bulk at competitive prices. It then adds value to it through designing, digital printing, dyeing, stitching, embroidery, etc. This allows it to sell good products at competitive prices.
The company has the capability to undertake various activities, such as cutting, stitching, inspection, matching, folding, thread cutting, matching, folding, etc., in-house.
It exports to discount retailers in the US, Australia, and the Far East, which are big markets for cotton-based products.
The company has a presence in both the Indian and export markets. Any slowdown in demand in one market could potentially be offset by strong demand in the other markets.
The company has seen a consistent increase in revenue from operations over the past few years. Revenue from operations increased from Rs 78.20 crore in FY21 to Rs 101.53 crore in FY22 to Rs 103.56 crore in FY23.
In the export market, the company predominantly focuses on bedsheets, which makes it susceptible to fluctuations in demand for this product. Any shifts in consumer preferences could significantly impact its business.
The company is dependent on a few buyers for a significant portion of its sales. The top 10 buyers accounted for Rs 37.30 crore (62.99%) of its revenue from operations for the period ending 31 December 2023, Rs 55.49 crore (53.59%) for FY23, Rs 76.54 crore (75.39%) for FY22, and Rs 58.44 crore (74.73%) in FY21.

The company has only one manufacturing unit in Bhiwandi. Any disruption in this unit or the business environment of the area could potentially hurt the company’s business.
The company has experienced negative cash flows in the past. Any repeat of this in the future could be detrimental to the company’s business.
The company is involved in certain legal proceedings. Any negative judgments in these cases could hurt the company’s business.
As of December 31, 2023, the company had long-term borrowings of Rs 38.21 crore and short-term borrowings of Rs 29.18 crore. Any inability to service or repay these borrowings could hurt the company’s business.
