What are weekly and monthly options?

Options contracts come with different expiry periods, allowing traders to pick a timeframe that fits their strategy best.
  1. Weekly Options:
    • These contracts expire every week, usually on a specific weekday, and are often used for short-term trading strategies.
  2. Monthly Options:
    • These contracts expire once a month, offering a longer time horizon for trades.
  3. Expiry Days for Key Indices:
    • Nifty weekly contracts expire on Thursday.
    • Sensex weekly contracts expire on Tuesday.
    • Banknifty, Midcap Nifty, and Finnifty monthly contracts expire on Thursday.
    • Bankex monthly contracts expire on Tuesday.
