Land Record - Loan Registration Details and Portals

Land records refer to a set of legal documents provided to the land owner, which includes the owner's identification, land location and the geological details of the land (shape, size and type).  These records also include Records of Rights (RORs), crop inspection registration, disputed cases, land registration, etc.

Importance of Land Registration Details

It is important to have land registration details or documents because of the following reasons:

  • Proof of ownership: Having the land record information or registration details serve as evidence of ownership. As a result, this will help an individual buy or sell a particular land, as all the information related to the title deed will be included in the land record. 
  • Avoid fraudulent activities: Land documents or records also helps individual to protect their land from any fraudulent activity or third-party possession.

Land Registration Process through Online Portal

The stages involved in online land registration in India are as follows:

Step 1: Check the circle rate for the area where your property/land is situated. The circular rate may differ depending on the type of property.

Step 2: Calculate the registration fees and stamp duty for the property.

Step 3: Make the payment for the stamp duty and property registration fees online.

Step 4: Book an appointment for the registrar's sub-office. 

Step 5: The buyer, seller, and two witnesses must provide their signatures before submitting the land registration documents.

Step 6: Make sure to carry all the essential land documents to the registrar’s office for final registration.

  • Land or Property details (area, Pincode, type of land).

  • Personal Details of Owner
  • Power of Attorney or Title Deed
