Indian equity markets are expected to open on a dull note today, June 2, after recording three months of consecutive gains. The  sentiment is in line with whispers from GIFT Nifty, which fell 17 points or 0.07 per cent to 24,853 , suggesting a dull opening for local stocks.

The international context is underpinned by fresh tariff jitters fueled by US President Donald Trump's announcement of raising tariffs on steel and aluminium to 50 percent from 25 per cent from Wednesday, June 4.

The action has caused falls in most equity markets in Asia, with Japan's Nikkei dropping 1.4 per cent and China's CSI 300 losing 0.5 per cent. China has been said to accuse the US of breaking a new trade agreement and declaring plans to protect its interests, fueling more market uncertainty. 

On Friday, Wall Street closed slightly lower in these tensions, though the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up. Back home, the BSE Sensex shut 182.01 points down, while the Nifty50 fell by 82.9 points on Friday. 

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers, selling shares worth ₹6,449.7 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) net purchased equities worth ₹9,095.9 crore. A few stocks are likely to be in the limelight during today's trading session.

Stock to Watch Today

Vodafone Idea The telecom company posted a net loss of ₹7,166 crore in Q4 FY25, a 6.62 per cent narrow year-on-year, due to reduced expenses. Net loss, however, increased by 8.42 percent sequentially.

FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa) The group entity of Nykaa registered an impressive 193 per cent jump in consolidated net profit for Q4 FY25 to ₹20.28 crore. Its revenue from operations increased by 23.6 per cent year-on-year at ₹2,062 crore.

AstraZeneca Pharma India The pharma major posted a 48 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at ₹58.25 crore for the quarter ended March 31. Total revenue from operations jumped 25.3 per cent year-on-year to ₹480.48 crore. Dividend of ₹32 per equity share has been recommended by the board.

Apollo Hospitals The company has reported a consolidated net profit of ₹389.6 crore for Q4 FY25, up by almost 54 per cent compared to the corresponding quarter of last year. Profit has been nearly flat sequentially with a rise of 4.65 per cent.

Brightcom Group This digital marketing solutions provider posted a consolidated profit rise of more than three times to ₹120.68 crore in the March quarter, led primarily by increased revenues. Operating income grew to ₹987.48 crore from ₹704.60 crore.

Genus Power Infrastructures Registered a huge increase in profit, rising 406.5 per cent to ₹123.3 crore in Q4 FY25. Revenue increased 123 per cent to ₹936.8 crore.

Titagarh Rail Systems Registered a fall in consolidated profit by 18.4 per cent year-on-year to ₹64.5 crore in Q4 FY25. Revenue also fell by 4.5 per cent to ₹1,005.6 crore.

Coffee Day Enterprises Registered a consolidated net loss of ₹114.16 crore for Q4 FY25, lower than a year-earlier ₹296.40 crore loss and quarter-over-quarter.

Puravankara The realty company saw its consolidated losses expand to ₹88 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2025, from a loss of ₹6.71 crore during the same period last year. Revenue from operations for the quarter fell by 40.4 per cent.

Adani Energy Solutions authorized raising ₹4,300 crore through a sale of a stake and won an inter-state transmission project worth ₹1,660 crore in Maharashtra

Mahindra & Mahindra registered a 17 per cent year-over-year rise in overall sales during the month of May, with domestic utility vehicle sales increasing by 21 per cent. Tractor sales by the company also registered a 10 per cent rise during the month of May. 

IRCON International secured an EPC order for ₹1,068.34 crore from East Central Railway for the construction of bridges.

 Infosys BPM introduced AI agents for invoice processing based on Infosys Topaz. **Cipla** stated that the USFDA carried out a cGMP audit at its Bommasandra site, resulting in one Form 483 observation which is being worked on.

Indian Oil Corp finalized the price of India's biggest green hydrogen unit at Panipat Refinery, to be commissioned in December 2027.
