Strengths & Financials of Juniper Hotels
In Fiscal 2023, the company’s revenue from operations was Rs. 666.85 cr compared to Rs. 308.69 cr in Fiscal 2022 and Rs. 166.35 cr in Fiscal 2021. The company has brought down its HLP(heat, light, and power) costs to Rs. 42.13 cr in Fiscal 2023 down from 9.07% in Fiscal 2022 and 12.72% in Fiscal 2021.
The company has diverse revenue streams coming from serviced apartments, restaurants, MICE services, and more.
The company’s hotels are present in key cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Raipur, and Hampi. Its hotels in Raipur and Hampi are the first international chain-affiliated hotels in those locations. The company targets micro-markets based on proximity to airports and business districts.
The Saraf Group and Hyatt have maintained a partnership for over 40 years.
The company has substantial indebtedness requiring significant cash flows to service. These could limit its ability to operate freely. It operates in a capital-intensive industry and as of September 30, 2023, its total borrowings (including current and non-current borrowings) were Rs. 2,252.75 cr.
The company’s recently acquired entity, which is now a wholly-owned subsidiary, CHPL, has experienced loan repayment delays in the past, leading to strategic debt restructuring. Failure on CHPL's part to fulfill the restructuring terms may have adverse implications for the business, financial condition, cash flows, and results of operations.
A substantial portion of the company's revenue (90.48% in the six months ending September 30, 2023) originates from three hotels/serviced apartments in Mumbai and New Delhi. Adverse developments affecting these properties or their respective regions may adversely impact the company's business, operational results, cash flows, and financial condition.
The company had negative cash flow from operations in the financial year 2022, amounting to Rs. 36.45 cr.
The company's hotels and serviced apartments presently operate under Hyatt brands on a nonexclusive basis. Long-term agreements with specific Hyatt entities govern the operations, management, and brand usage. The termination or non-renewal of these agreements could have adverse effects on the company's business, operational results, cash flows, and financial condition.
The company and some of its subsidiaries have availed unsecured borrowings. Some of these may be recalled by the lender at any time and this could have an adverse impact on the business’s cash flows and financial condition.
There are outstanding litigations against the company and its promoters. Any adverse outcome in these proceedings may affect the business and its financial condition.
