RTO Forms 28, 29 and 30 are essential documents required for the transfer of ownership of a motor vehicle in India. These forms are used to notify the Regional Transport Office (RTO) about the change in ownership and to update the vehicle registration details.
The process to download and fill out these vehicle transfer forms is explained in detail for your understanding.
To sell your vehicle, you must first get a 'No Objection Certificate' from the RTO. It confirms that there are no outstanding challans, FIRs, or taxes against the vehicle. To obtain a 'No Objection Certificate,' submit Form 28 to the RTO.
If you are selling a vehicle, you must transfer the vehicle's ownership to the buyer. Form 29 must be submitted to the Regional Transport Office in order to do so. Form 29 certifies that the vehicle owner has filed all required documentation.
Following the submission of Form 29, the owner must submit Form 30 to the RTO where the vehicle was first registered. The filing of Form 30 confirms the submission of Form 29, which is essential for the transfer of vehicle ownership. Form 30 is an application that should be presented to the RTO in order to notify the relevant authority of the transfer of ownership of the vehicle from the previously registered owner to a new buyer.
