Goa Vehicle Registration with the RTO

Vehicle registration through RTOs in Goa involves the process of getting a unique registration number and certificate for the vehicle. Here are the process that must be followed for registering a new vehicle through the Regional Tranport Office in Goa:

  • Step 1: Visit any RTO and fill the Form 20.
  • Step 2: Submit all the required documents and the duly filled form 20 to the authorized executive.
  • Step 3: Pay the registration fee. 
  • Step 4: As a next step, the vehicle will be inspected by the authorities along with all the submitted documents. 
  • Step 5: If all the documents are found to be legally valid, the vehicle will be provided with a registration certificate and number.

Documents Required to Register a Vehicle in Goa Regional Transport Office

To register a new car in Goa, the vehicle must be delivered to the registering authorities for examination, along with the following documents:

  • Duly-filled Form 20.
  • Form 21 - This is a sale certificate that must be submitted by the individual selling the vehicle to the buyer.
  • An attested copy of Car Insurance.
  • Road tax is applicable.
  • Fee for registration, if applicable.
  • Certificate of vehicle fitness (if required).
  • Forms 60 and 61, as well as a PAN card (if required).
  • Applicant's address proof.
  • Form 34 - attested by the owner and the vehicle financer (if the car was financed).

How to Renew Vehicle Registration Certificate in Goa?

The registration certificate for a new vehicle is valid for 15 years, after which it must be renewed or re-registered with the registration authority. Vehicle registration can be renewed by bringing the vehicle to the registering authorities for examination. The car registration will be renewed after successful document verification and vehicle inspection.

The following documents need to be submitted by the applicant as part of the process:

  • Duly-filled Form 25.
  • Original Vehicle Registration Certificate.
  • Road tax receipts.
  • Certificate of insurance (attested copy).
  • Certificate of Pollution Control (PUC).
  • Registration fees.
  • Forms 60 and 61, well as a copy of your PAN card (if applicable).

How to Get a Driving License from Goa RTO?

An applicant can apply for a permanent driving license one month after acquiring a learner's license. Given below are the steps to apply for a driver's license in Goa:

  • Step 1: Go to the official portal of mparivahan Goa (https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/).
  • Step 2: Choose 'Goa' from the given options.
  • Step 3: After selecting 'Goa', click on the option 'Apply for Driving License.'
  • Step 4: Choose to continue and enter the required details.
  • Step 5: Fill out the application and upload the required documents.
  • Step 6: After uploading the essential documents, choose a slot for your driving test that will be held at the RTO.
  • Step 7: Choose a date and time and book your driving test appointment.

To apply for a driving license in Goa, the applicant must provide the following documents:

  • Form 4 - Driving license application form for a private vehicle.
  • Form 5 -  Driving license application form for commercial vehicles.
  • Three copies of passport-size pictures.
