• Every vehicle owner is required to pay the vehicle tax levied by the government on various types of vehicles. Taxes vary based on the kind and capacity of the vehicle. Motor Vehicle Tax (MV Tax) is the name given to the collection of these charges. The RTO in that region is the sole governing body in charge of collecting all fees and taxes. The Andaman RTO also retrieves the new International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) payments. It also imposes fines in cases involving government involvement.
• The RTO shall guarantee that no individual motor vehicle exceeds the speed limit and follows all traffic laws. Furthermore, they must adhere to fundamental road safety precautions. • The RTO is in charge of awarding drivers with driving licenses. As a result, the RTO administers driving tests and gathers all pertinent information about the drivers. It also confirms the vehicle's permitted class. When necessary, RTOs provide Learner's Driving Licenses, Permanent Driving Licenses, Commercial Driving Licenses, and International Driving Permits. It also manages license renewal and the granting of duplicate licenses. It also decides whether or not the vehicle has the gear. The form of registration depends on whether the vehicle transports passengers or freight.
• Its objective is to inspect the operation of vehicles on the road. As a result, they check to determine if the vehicles are registered, as well as any other necessary papers. Also, whether they obtain a current and valid No Pollution Certificate/NPC, they also inspect to see if the vehicle is in good operating order and safe to operate on public roads.

Vehicle registration in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is now available through two RTOs:

Permanent Vehicle Registration: Section 39 of the Motor Vehicle Act requires permanent vehicle registration for driving within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As a result, attempting to drive without a valid Registration Certificate (RC) is a serious offence.
Temporary Vehicle Registration: Assume that the owner of a vehicle desires to take it to a state other than the state of registration. They must apply for temporary registration. Such interim car registration, however, is not renewed and is only good for one month.
