RTO Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The RTO Andaman is a government institution that has been established in order to perform and regulate the duties and regulations that are mentioned in the Motor Vehicles Act. Through the Andaman RTO, individuals can avail of services such as vehicle registration, license issue, RC transfer, and much more. You can also avail of these services through the official Parivahan Andaman or the Andaman RTO website - http://db.and.nic.in/mvd/.

Functions of RTO Andaman

  • Every vehicle owner is required to pay the vehicle tax levied by the government on various types of vehicles. Taxes vary based on the kind and capacity of the vehicle. Motor Vehicle Tax (MV Tax) is the name given to the collection of these charges. The RTO in that region is the sole governing body in charge of collecting all fees and taxes. The Andaman RTO also retrieves the new International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) payments. It also imposes fines in cases involving government involvement.
  • The RTO shall guarantee that no individual motor vehicle exceeds the speed limit and follows all traffic laws. Furthermore, they must adhere to fundamental road safety precautions. Furthermore, it ensures that drivers adhere to the requirements stated in the Motor Vehicles Act in order to avoid excessive risks. Similarly, the RTO maintains a database of all registered vehicles with third-party insurance coverage. As a result, if drivers are caught driving without insurance, their license or car registration may be revoked.
  • The automobile registration process is overseen by the RTO. It also issues No Objection Certificates and transit licenses. A No Objection Certificate is necessary when transferring a vehicle's license from one RTO to another within the same state. That is, using a car purchased in one state to travel to another. When a vehicle is sold, the RTO is also in charge of updating the vehicle's license with the new owner.
  • The RTO is in charge of awarding drivers with driving licenses. As a result, the RTO administers driving tests and gathers all pertinent information about the drivers. It also confirms the vehicle's permitted class. When necessary, RTOs provide Learner's Driving Licenses, Permanent Driving Licenses, Commercial Driving Licenses, and International Driving Permits. It also manages license renewal and the granting of duplicate licenses. It also decides whether or not the vehicle has the gear. The form of registration depends on whether the vehicle transports passengers or freight.
  • Its objective is to inspect the operation of vehicles on the road. As a result, they check to determine if the vehicles are registered, as well as any other necessary papers. Also, whether they obtain a current and valid No Pollution Certificate/NPC, they also inspect to see if the vehicle is in good operating order and safe to operate on public roads.
  • The RTO analyzes whether vehicles on the road can meet environmental requirements by measuring pollution levels. As a result, the RTO issues a Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate to vehicles. It also inspects the vehicle and its accompanying equipment.
