Every employee is required to nominate a member(s) to the EPF account under the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952. In this way, in case of a member’s demise, the nominated individual(s) can withdraw from the funds accumulated in the EPF account. The employee is required to fill up and submit Form 2 to declare and nominate the same.

The PF nomination form 2 has a total of four sections, viz. General Information, Part – A (EPF proceeds), Part– B (EPS Proceeds) (Para–18), and Certificate by the Employer.

The EPS account, short for the Employees’ Pension Scheme, has a total share of 8.33% out of 12% of the employer’s contribution to EPF. A member who has a registered UAN at the unified EPF Member Portal can fill his e-Nomination online. In case you have not registered at the EPF member portal, you will have to first activate your UAN and then follow these simple steps for e-Nomination:
Follow the same steps for the EPS section for availing benefits of the pension scheme.
The EPF Form 2 needs to file the nomination details in form No.2, after which they need to submit the application form to the employer.
When nomination form 2 has been filed, the nomination details will be updated in the EPF account. The nominee will get the fund in the proportion that is mentioned in form 2.
There are no extra documents required to complete the nomination via EPF Form 2.
