The government of India, in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Organization, created the Dhanalakshmi plan to minimize the number of female infanticide cases in the nation, as well as to provide insurance and an education incentive. Though the plan has since been phased out in favour of more appealing initiatives launched by the government throughout the years, it did put many things into perspective – particularly with relation to female children.
