Banglarbhumi is an online website for land records and reforms launched by the West Bengal government. Anyone can use this portal to obtain land and property-related information such as the name of the owner, land acreage, plot number, property valuation, and current owner. Details regarding the land/property are critical to a buyer or owner of the land/property.
As a precaution, if a person wishes to acquire any land/property, he should inquire about the fundamental information.
These data might be as basic as determining who owns the land and under whose name it is registered. The Bongobhumi portal offers this information, as well as a map of the land, for land/properties in West Bengal. It also assists entrepreneurs planning to establish new enterprises in the state by informing them of the infrastructure available in the chosen area.
A user can also obtain information pertaining to his block by just entering the district and block details.
A property registration deed is a binding contract executed by two parties. The buyer becomes the legal owner of the property after the property is registered in his or her name. This contract, also known as the purchase or land deed, must be recorded with the government. The registration of a purchase or land deed may be found here.
Additionally, the e-appointment for registering this deed may be completed on the same website.
If the stamp duty payable on the deed exceeds Rs.10,000/- or the registration price payable exceeds Rs.5,000/-, or both, e-payment is required for registration. This registration method is linked to the Income Tax Department, allowing PAN verification of the persons engaged at the time of deed registration.
