How to Register for HDFC Bank SMS Banking?

There are several methods to register for HDFC Bank SMS Banking services, and they are-

a) HDFC SMS Banking Registration Through ATM

Customers of HDFC Bank can also register for the service from an ATM.

  • Step 1: Visit a nearby HDFC Bank ATM and enter your ATM PIN after swiping the card.
  • Step 2: On the homepage of the ATM, the 'More Options' tab will be displayed.
  • Step 3: After that, click on ‘SMS Banking’ and select ‘Register’.
  • Step 4: Enter your phone number that is linked to the bank account. Click ‘Confirm’.
  • Step 5: Enter and submit the OTP received on your phone number. The user’s mobile number will now be activated for SMS Banking.

b) HDFC SMS Banking Registration Through SMS

Customers can also register for SMS Banking services of HDFC Bank by sending an SMS to the HDFC SMS Banking number. One must send an SMS in the following format- 

  • REGISTER<Last five digits of their A/C number> to 5676712
  • Register<Space>Last 4 digits of customer ID<Space>Last 4 digits of account number to 7308080808

Customers must ensure that they send the message from the phone number linked to their account for which they want to activate SMS Banking.

c) SMS Banking Registration Through HDFC Online Banking

Customers can also sign up for HDFC SMS banking through their online banking account of HDFC. Here are the steps that need to be followed:

  • Step 1: Customers of HDFC must log in to their online banking account with their customer ID and password.
  • Step 2: Click' SMS Banking' under the ‘Services’ section. 
  • Step 3: Select ‘Register’. The user will be asked to select the account for which they want SMS Banking services.
  • Step 4: Enter the mobile number registered with the bank account.
  • Step 5: Enter the OTP received on the mobile number and click ‘Submit’  to confirm. The user will receive a notification from the bank once the HDFC Bank SMS banking services are activated on their number.

d) Register for SMS Banking Through HDFC Branch

Customers who want to sign up for SMS Banking services of HDFC can also fill out an application form and submit it to the HDFC Bank branch.
