Bank of India Account Number

Bank of India, or the BOI, is one of the banks that was created prior to independence. It meets all of the needs of its customers by offering a wide range of products such as retail banking, corporate banking, loans, asset management, and so on.

The bank has converted from the conventional method of short account numbers to the new format of 15-digit Bank of India account numbers for electronic fund transfers.

The key cause for this was the RBI's decision to standardize account numbers throughout India's banking industry. The RBI is working to ensure that all account numbers in India are consistent. This is done to make interbank transactions easier for clients.

This 15-digit account number supplied to consumers is essential for carrying out any transactions, whether they are carried out electronically or offline. The 15-digit account number provided by the Bank of India is part of the standardized format necessary for transactions such as:

  • IMPS
  • ECS
  • RTGS
  • NEFT

To convert your existing traditional short account number to the new 15-digit format, simply visit your nearest Bank of India office and get the new account number.

The bank officials will then issue you with your new 15-digit account number. The account number is coded based on the account type held by the customer at the Bank of India.

BOI offers the following types of accounts to customers:

  • Loan Account
  • Current Account
  • Deposits Account
  • Savings Account

Since each of these accounts has a unique account number, a customer can deposit funds into a loan account by supplying the loan account number.
