Central Depository Services Ltd (CDSL) is an important financial institution in the country. As one of India’s largest depositories, CDSL plays a vital role in the financial ecosystem. To boost efficiency and financial infrastructure, CDSL offers online facilities such as CDSL Easi and CDSL Easiest to users. In this article, we will learn more about CDSL Easiest, its features, and how to sign up for it.
CDSL is a depository or a central place where securities are stored in a dematerialised format.
By keeping the securities in electronic format, the need for physical certificates is eliminated. CDSL also facilitates the transfer of shares from one demat account to another. CDSL extends these and other services and benefits to clients through depository participants (DPs).
CDSL keeps track of transactions that take place within a demat account. This is where CDSL Easi and Easiest come into play.
CDSL Easiest refers to electronic access to securities information and execution of secured transactions. Although CDSL Easi and Easiest have similar features, Easiest is differentiated by the additional features that it offers to users.
Besides the features of CDSL Easi, CDSL Easiest allows users to provide off-market and on-market instructions submitted by the clearing members of the beneficial owners. Inter-depository and early pay-in instructions are also allowed.
