The opening price was also 0.04% lower in comparison to yesterday’s (20th March) closing price of ₹370.50. Yet, the opening prices on the 20th (₹374.80) were higher than the closing prices of ₹371.45 on the 19th of the month. At the same time, opening prices were ₹363.90 on the 19th of March 2025, higher than the closing price of ₹352.05 on the 18th of the month. There were three straight days of opening above the closing price although today was a little muted initially.
At midday, however, the stock prices started going up, touching a steady value of ₹376.75 after dipping a little midway to ₹374.46 amidst a steady growth curve from this time onwards. Tata Power is in the news for awarding a ₹2,470 crore contract to an HCC-TPL JV and also for crossing 1.5 lakh solar rooftop installations in India. It remains to be seen how the stock plays out over the next few days.

This came after a positive initial session of trading, although prices plunged further downwards to ₹367.92 sometime earlier. They have now started their upward ascent again, driven by overall optimism regarding the company and the sector at large. However, prices are still to reach the previous closing mark, though they may touch the same and go beyond by the end of the day.
The partnership between Tata Power and FSR Global for smart-grid innovation may prove to be a major catalyst in galvanizing end-of-day trade and pull up the stock to closing highs, just like it did on the 19th of March 2025.
