Sundaram MF has Launched Sundaram Bluechip Fund: NFO Closes on September 30
Sundaram Mutual Fund has launched a new fund offer (NFO) for a bluechip equity fund. Sundaram Bluechip Fund opens on September 17, and the NFO closes on September 30. The scheme will open for subscription and redemption on October 14.
Investment Strategy
Sundaram Bluechip Fund will be an open-ended equity scheme that will mostly invest in large-cap stocks. The NFO is available at Rs 10 per unit.

What are large-cap stocks?
Large-cap stocks are stocks of those companies whose market capitalisation is generally more than Rs 20,000 crores.
In terms of listed companies, the Securities and Exchanges Board of India (SEBI) has defined them as the
- 1st to 100th listed company in terms of market capitalisation
Benchmark
The fund is benchmarked to the Nifty 100 TRI Index.
Nifty 100 is a stock market index that represents the top 100 companies from Nifty 500. This is based on the full market capitalisation of the companies. It attempts to cover all major sectors of the economy. Since it covers the top 100 companies, the index mostly covers the large-cap companies of the market.
TRI or total return index of any stock market index records the price movements and dividend payouts of the stocks listed in the index. All mutual funds are mandated by the SEBI to use TRI as a benchmark.

Sundaram Bluechip Fund will have a regular and direct plan. Under both plans, the fund will provide growth and dividend (payout, re-investment and sweep) options. In case the investor does not indicate any option, growth will be chosen as the default option.

Rahul Baijal: Senior Fund Manager – Equity
He has a PGDM(MBA) from IIM Calcutta and is an engineering graduate of Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi. Rahul joined Sundaram Mutual in July 2016 as Fund Manager – Equity. Rahul has a rich experience spanning over 19 years in Equity Research and Fund Management. His prior experience includes working with Bharti AXA Life Insurance, TVF Capital, HSBC Securities, Credit Suisse Securities & Standard Chartered Bank.
