About the Company

Headquartered in Jericho, New York, Kimco Realty Corporation is an American real estate investment trust (REIT) that primarily invests in shopping centres. It is one of the largest publicly traded operators and owners of mixed-use, open-air and grocery-anchored assets. As of Q3 of 2020, it owned approximately 400 American shopping centres and mixed-use assets. This comprised gross leasable space mainly concentrated in the most significant metropolitan market of about 70 million square feet. The company owns more than 420 properties across the States in places like New York, Texas, Arizona, California, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, etc. Some of these properties are Mooresville Crossing, Potomac Run Plaza, Richmond, Wilton Campus, Towson Place, Savannah Centre, City Heights Center, Charlotte Sports & Fitness Ctr, Coulter Ave Parcel, Englewood Plaza, Festival at Hyannis SC, Glendale Square, Grand Plaza, Granary Square, Independence Plaza, Ives Dairy Crossing, etc. It offers an array of properties under its new flagship called Signature Series which concentrates around core MSA and growth through development and redevelopment. Kimco Realty Corp also owns over 90 PADs and restaurants in America. Few of these properties are Rockingham Plaza, La Mirada Theater Center, Castor Place, Centre Court, Carmel Mountain Plaza, Oakwood Plaza North and South, Rancho Penasquitos Towne Ctr., etc. It was founded in 1958 when real estate investors, Milton Cooper and Martin Kimmel merged their assets. After that, the company went public in 1991 and raised about $120 million through an initial public offering (IPO). Since then, the company has acquired three significant companies, namely, Price REIT in 1998, Mid-Atlantic Realty Trust in 2003 and Birchwood Development Company in 2007. It entered the S&P 500 index on 4th April 2006. Since 1991, Kimco Realty Corp shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “KIM”. In 2016, the company was recognized by Forbes in its prestigious Global 2000.;
