Founded in 1902 by George A. Archer and W. Daniels, it began as a linseed crushing company, acquiring Midland Linseed in 1923 to become ADM. After six years from that, ADM began to expand its business by venturing into soybean crushing and acquired Commander Larabee flour milling. From 1974 through 2019, the company has acquired 12 major agricultural businesses and launched 4 new industrial ventures. It is a member of more than 200 prominent business and trade associations as of 2020.
ADM provides products and services under 8 divisions, that is fuel, logistics, food and beverages solutions, industrials, farmer services, animal nutrition, financial services and SparkHub.
