About the Company

Qualcomm is a public multinational company engaged in the production of telecommunications equipment and semiconductors. Incorporated in Delaware, the company began operations in 1985. Its headquarters are in San Diego, California, United States. Qualcomm shares trade on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol of QCOM. QCOM shares are also included as a component in several stock market indices, namely NASDAQ 100, S&P 100 and S&P 500. The company offers semiconductors, software, intellectual property, and services pertaining to wireless technology. Its product portfolio is segmented into two kinds of equipment based on the nature of the products, namely By Technology and By Application. Qualcomm develops devices and applications for use in artificial intelligence, 5G, Wi-Fi, processors, cameras, networking, etc. It also offers Snapdragon mobile platforms, processors and modems. Some of its notable Snapdragon products are Snapdragon 865+5G Mobile Platform, Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform and Snapdragon 768G 5G Mobile Platform. Qualcomm Technologies, one of its subsidiaries, develops smart city solutions across the globe. Its Smart Cities Accelerator Program connects municipalities, cities, enterprises as well as government agencies through cloud solutions, hardware, software, system integrators, etc. The company acquired several enterprises over the years and expanded its business profile. It purchased SnapTrack in 2000 for $1 billion. QCOM bought-off certain assets of EPOS Development in 2012 on undisclosed financial terms. In 2015, QCOM acquired Capsule Technologies, which then became Qualcomm’s wholly-owned subsidiary. As of 2021, its latest acquisition took place on January 13, 2021, when Qualcomm purchased NUVIA for a transaction value of $1.4 billion. It operates internationally, including countries like Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, France, India, Netherlands, China, Russia, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom, among several others. Qualcomm’s clientele includes Altek Corporation, Hitachi Vantara Corporation, IBM, Tata Projects Limited, AdvanTech Co. Ltd, ARM Limited, Black & Veatch Corporation, Assured Wireless Corporation and Asian Information Technology Inc. It ranked 126 on the list of Fortune 500 companies in 2020. The company ranked 258 on Forbes’ list of Global 2000 2020 companies. Forbes also included Qualcomm in its 2020 rankings of the World’s Best Employers and Best Employers for Diversity.;
