Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings LTD is a cruise company with its operational headquarters in Miami, Florida, United States. The company operates through the following divisions: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Its subsidiaries offer itineraries to various locations all across the world; some of the destinations include Europe, Asia, New Zealand, Bermuda, Hawaii, Canada and Australia. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings LTD shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol “NCLH”. As of May 2017, it had over 20 ships and more than 50,000 berths.
NCLH was established as a Bermuda exempt company in 2011. Following the successful completion of its IPO in 2013, it became listed on NASDAQ. Following a corporate reorganisation between NCLH and Norwegian Cruise Line, the former gained full ownership of the latter. The former owners of Norwegian Cruise Line surrendered their individual stakes in exchange for equity in NCLH. Subsidiaries of NCLH offer a wide range of facilities.
Some of the facilities offered include different accommodations, lounges, bars, and casinos. It also provides multiple dining locations, shopping and entertainment options. Almost all of its subsidiaries offer hotel packages for stays. NCLH had the capacity to provide more than 12 ships that were engaged in providing its Freestyle Cruising Product which was designed to provide maximum freedom and flexibility to its guests. This company primarily markets its services through retail or travel agents.
NCLH completed its largest acquisition in 2014 when it acquired Prestige Cruises International, the holding company of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises for approximately $3.4 billion. The acquisition was funded using cash, stock and debt refinancing. In 2018, NCLH was a recipient of the ”North America’s Leading Cruise Line” Award and “Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Line Award”. World Travel Awards presented the award to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, a gala ceremony which was held in Montego Bay, Jamaica. In 2020, it ranked 1392nd on Forbes’ Global 2000 list. In the same year, it occupied the 301st position on Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity 2020 list. Moreover, it ranked 60th on the list of Fortune’s 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.;
