About the Company

Mohawk Industries, Inc. is an American company engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of residential and commercial flooring products. It began operations in 1988 and is headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia, United States. The company went public in 1992, and its shares began trading on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol of NMS. Mohawk Industries later moved its shares to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) where it now trades under the ticker of MHK. MHK shares are an S&P 500 stock market index component. Alongside its operation in the United States, Mohawk Industries Inc. also operates internationally in numerous countries, such as Mexico, Ireland, Australia, Brazil, Poland, Belarus, New Zealand, Russia, the UK, France, Germany, and Malaysia, among others. The company’s product portfolio includes ceramic tiles, residential carpets, commercial carpets, area rugs, bath rugs, mats, laminate flooring, luxury vinyl tiles, sheet vinyl, wood flooring, and countertops. Over the years, Mohawk Industries, Inc. acquired several companies. In 2002, it bought-off Dal-Tile International Inc. for a price of $1.8 billion and added international manufacturing operations to its business profile. MHK entered the European market in 2005 through the acquisition of Unilin, a Belgium-based company, in a transaction of $2.6 billion. Another acquisition took place in 2007 when it purchased Columbia Wood Flooring for an undisclosed amount. In 2013, Mohawk bought-off Marazzi and Pergo for $1.5 billion and $150 million, respectively, and expanded its international businesses in Italy, Russia and Spain. In 2015, Mohawk Industries, Inc., entered into a total of four mergers and acquired IVC Group, KAI Group, Mexicali, and Xtratherm. This trail of acquisitions continued in the subsequent years and MHK bought-off EmilGroup in 2017. In 2018, it acquired Godfrey, Berghoef and Eliane. The same year Forbes included MHK in its list of America’s Largest Public Companies and America’s Best Employers. As of 2021, Mohawk Industries, Inc. ranked 1247th on Forbes’ list of Global 2000 2020 companies. Forbes also included the company in its 2020 rankings of Best Employers for Veterans, World’s Best Employers as well as America’s Best Employers By State. MHK also ranked 321st on the list of Fortune 500 companies.;
