Lam Research Corporation specializes in the invention and production of chip-making equipment in two distinct areas: etching machines and chemical mechanical polishing (CMP). This company patented the etching technology named, Transformer Coupled Plasma technology in 1992. Some of the noteworthy etch, and deposition techs launched by this company include Integrity CVD system, TCP 9400 polysilicon etching system, TCP 9600 metal etching system, etc.
